A pretty landscape

Welcome

Welcome to the new and improved obviously.ca.  As many of you were relaxing over the summer or working at your summer jobs, we were making like Oompa Loompas and working away on creating an even better website for YOU. You’ll see regular new features at NewsWatch such as reviews of the latest environmental movies and books, interviews with ECO-celebrities (check out our interview with Catherine Gauthier, from the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition) and a listing of Canadian universities that have environmental programs.  Stop by often, there’s always something new to check out, and hey, while you’re here, let us know what you think of the new site by .

We’ve beefed up our Action section to include a declaration of environmental commitment that you can use for inspiration and more resources which we plan on adding to regularly. We’ve added a lifestyle section, with eco-friendly fashion advice and an environmental product guide. In the very near future, we’ll soon have a merchandise section (we’re taking suggestions), an ask-the-environmental-expert column, a media resource library, contests, and a whole lot more.

Before we leave you to browse, we’d like to present our formal mission statement. So here goes:

“Obviously.ca is Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment’s youth website. The site aims to provide youth with the information they need to make environmentally-conscious decisions.  With background information, news features, movie and book reviews, celebrity interviews, pop culture articles and lifestyle guides, obviously.ca informs, educates and entertains from an environmental perspective.”

So please, pull up a chair, make yourself comfortable, stick around, check it out and let us know what you think…obviously.
